Political change came to Zimbabwe in 2017 with the departure of the president who had held power since independence in 1980.

Despite being well-endowed with natural resources, the Zimbabwean economy is fragile with more than half the population in poverty and a fragile social environment, with high incidence of teenage marriage, orphans and youth unemployment. Many Zimbabweans have migrated, especially to South Africa.

ASI has advised Zimbabwe on mining, climate change resilience, transportation and enhancing the business environment.
