ASI ASIA-PACIFIC

ASI established its permanent Asia-Pacific presence in 2012 with the opening of its regional headquarters in Sydney, Australia, to support a growing portfolio with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT). Since then, we have delivered more than 60 DFAT-funded assignments across 26 countries, becoming a trusted and long-standing implementation partner to the Australian Aid program.

In 2021, we established ASI’s Southeast Asia hub in Bangkok, Thailand, to oversee and support our expanding operations in ASEAN. This platform has enabled us to triple our footprint in the region over the past five years, strengthening our presence, agility, and responsiveness across priority geographies.

Our client portfolio has also diversified significantly, delivering impactful development programs on behalf of a range of bilateral and multilateral partners, including the UK’s Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO), the European Union, New Zealand’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade (MFAT), the Asian Development Bank (ADB), the World Bank, and previously the U.S. Department of State.

Our work across the region now spans climate change, sustainable infrastructure, private sector and market systems development, economic and human capital development, health, trade and investment, governance, law and justice, aviation, and gender equality, disability and social inclusion. Notable examples include advancing sustainable and resilient infrastructure across Southeast Asia through Partnerships for Infrastructure (P4I), promoting climate-smart agriculture and nutrition-sensitive farming in Timor-Leste through the TOMAK program, and supporting inclusive economic development in Solomon Islands through the Strongim Bisnis program.

Throughout Asia-Pacific, ASI is widely recognised for its technical depth, regional experience, and commitment to delivering locally grounded, high-impact solutions that respond to the priorities of our government partners and the communities they serve.
