Bosnia-Herzegovina emerged from the break-up of Yugoslavia in the early 1990s.

After a devastating 3-year war, it is now an independent state, partially under international oversight under the terms of the 1995 Dayton Peace Accords which established a Bosniak-Croat Federation and Bosnian Serb Republic – with a federal government and rotating presidency.
